Both Bob and Gail were born and grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. Saginaw is a small town of about 80,000 people, approximately 100 miles north of Detroit. Along with Bay City and Midland it is also known as the Tri Cities
Our genealogy have our basic roots in Europe. Gail's Mother's parents were from Lithuania (Russia at the time) and her father's roots were in France. Bob's father's parents were from Germany and Austria. His Mother's parents were from Switzerland and Canada
We graduated from SS Peter and Paul High School. Gail went to work for the Telephone Company, while at the same time taking classes at the local college and Bob went on to Michigan State University. At the beginning of his Junior year, Bob and Gail were married. Gail bought a 38 foot house trailer for us to live in and that became our first home located in Lansing, Michigan for about a year. We sold the trailer and moved in the married housing at Spartan Village. Michelle was born at St Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Just prior to Graduation and leaving Michigan State, Michael was born in Lansing, Michigan.
Our first job was for Western Electric and it was located in Chicago, Illinois. So at the beginning of September we purchased a new car and left for Forest Park, Illinois where we had rented an apartment on the second floor of a private home. I took the EL Train to downtown Chicago to work for Western Electric at the Merchandise Mart.
After a year, we moved, South of Chicago to Park Forest. We rented a townhouse. After a couple of years Danny was born in Harvey Illinois.
We lived in Park Forest five years and then built our first house in Downers Grove, Illinois.After 2 1/2 years of working on various aspects of the house, we decided to take the companies offer and move to Boulder, Colorado. We both were interested in seeing the Grand Canyon. From August 1, 1969 to the present we have lived in Colorado.
