Our tour of the RIVERS OF EUROPE began in Amsterdam, Netherlands and ended in Budapest, Hungary. It covered three of the most important rivers in Europe, the Rhine, the Main, and the Danube. We went through five (5) different countries, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. We Cruised by 15 different cities along with other various villages and towns. We traveled 1230 miles and went through 67 locks.

The tour included 13 guided tour, and various old world highlights.

We boarded the "Viking Legend" Ship from the Viking River Cruise Line.

The Viking fleet consists of 18 ships, most built after 2000. The Viking Legend was launched in 2009 and features the largest suites on the river. The capacity is 189 Guests with 95 staterooms, all deluxe with either French balconies or picture windows. We had 182 Guests with a crew of 44.

There is one restaurant with 29 tables with open seating dinning. The tables are set up for 6, 8 or 10 guests per table.

Day 1, Thursday, May 27, 2010, like all international trips is a day of travel. We departed Denver on Delta Airlines at 10:59 AM with a stop over in Atlanta. We continued our trip on Delta Airlines at 5:20 PM to Amsterdam, Netherlands.

All images on this web site are mine except for a very small number where indicated. At some sites, like museums, etc. photography was not allowed. For these sites, images were from postcards. The images associated with the Anne Frank family were from their web site. These were used to complete the story I was trying to tell.

The text in these pages were from a number of references and edited by me. I did the best I could to verify the accuracy of the data. A few of the images I could not identify, but I didn't want to leave it out.
